Abortion Laws in Oklahoma

An Oklahoma law that prohibits the use of certain abortion-inducing drugs has been ruled unconstitutional by a district court judge. Judge Donald Worthington says the law violates a woman's fundamental rights to privacy and bodily integrity. The law was approved in 2011 and required doctors to follow the strict guidelines authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It prohibited off-label uses of the drugs — such as changing a recommended dosage or prescribing it for different symptoms than the drug was initially approved for.
